A colorful, economical way to create a beautiful centerpiece on your reception table is to use an arrangement of fruit. A fruit display is dynamic, full of color, and can also be a healthy part of your wedding reception menu. By using fruits that are in season, you will also save money.
Lemons, oranges, and limes look simply stunning sliced and displayed in clear vases. Think of the wonderful aroma these citrus fruits will give off. The color will be festive and you can choose whatever flowers you want to put in the vases to add height. To get the slices to stay in place, purchase foam from a craft store and wedge the slices between the glass and the foam. Whole fruits may also be used in vases and bowls for a different approach.
Instead of forking over extra dollars to a florist for floral arrangements that may wind up drooping, consider the alternative. Just use spray paint – maybe even metallic if you are brave. Put the branches in large vases and hang paper birds or pastel-colored balls from the smaller branches. If your wedding is in the month of Easter, you may even want to hang wooden Easter egg ornaments from the branches.
