Do It Yourself Winter Wedding Favors

Winter weddings are often some of those most beautiful ceremonies of all four seasons. The cold weather outside makes  an indoor wedding snug and intimate. These special gatherings require elegant wedding favors for the perfect memorabilia.

Decorating your own Christmas balls is a cheap and easy way to create elegant gifts to give to your guests. Choose one color, such as red, for a monochrome theme or buy a multicolored pack of ornaments for variety. Using a glitter pen or plain old glue and glitter, embellish them with winter scenery or something like “John and Linda December 20, 2011.”

We all love to have our favorite wintertime desserts. You know the ones that can only be found on the Thanksgiving or Christmas table. What better gift than to send your guests home with a delicious homemade creation like chocolate covered pretzels. It’s very simple: dip your favorite pretzels in melted chocolate squares, place on wax paper and freeze. Divide them into tiny gift bags to place on your reception tables.

Design beautiful snowflakes on pieces of blue or white paper and frame them for unique wedding favors. Consider using silver or gold frames for an elegant display of your artwork.

Is your wedding date around Christmastime? The beautiful red poinsettia is a beautiful decoration as well as thoughtful wedding favor. Pin the large blooms to white napkins or float them in small bowls of water surrounded by candles for a warm and serene atmosphere. The bride-t0-be may also wish to pin one of these holiday favorites to her dress.

A classic winter treat that you may consider using as a wedding favor is popcorn. Miniature popcorn tins make the perfect memento of your winter wedding.  Or if you want to send them home popcorn they can make themselves, pour some kernels in a glass jar to use as favors.
