Wedding favors are intended to show the couple’s gratuity and be enjoyed by the guests. One of the best and easiest ways to achieve this is to use edible treats as wedding favors. If you choose to make your own edibles for your wedding favors, you can save money and be creative. However, there are many candies, cookies, pastries, and other goods already made that can save you time.
Choosing what kind of cookie to use can be a challenge. There are simply too many delicious varieties of the tasty dessert. Chocolate chip, peanut butter, and oatmeal raisin are classic favorites, while many no-bake recipes can also be great ideas for cookie wedding favors. Traditional powdered wedding cookies are perfect for receptions as well.
If you are planning to invite many guests, a cheap way to please your guests is to make homemade Rice Krispies treats. Using a half-stick of butter or margarine, melt a ten ounce bag of marshmallows into the butter. Constantly stir until mixture is smooth. Remove from heat and pour in six cups of Rice Krispies. Press into a casserole dish (you may have to butter your hands- sticky!) and let cool. You may want to sprinkle chocolate chips or M&Ms on top.
Fruit is often used as a centerpiece in wedding receptions. The bright colors and contrasting textures draw the eye
straight to the bold array. But what about using fruit as wedding favors? It is fresh, healthy, and especially great for summer weddings. Strawberries and cherries can be dipped in chocolate and apples can be caramelized or candied. Lemon and orange wedges are terrific for cocktail drinks.
For a chocolate loving crowd, go for brownie wedding favors. Brownies can easily be wrapped individually using plastic cling wrap. Turn them into yummy presents to take home by tying colored ribbon in a bow around the brownies. Stack on platters for a pyramid of rich, fudgy wedding favors.
